EV7 - Day 10 - Musei di Mantova
A full day of Museums in Mantova today. After several hours of walking through hundreds of rooms and miles of frescoes in the Ducal Palace of the Gonzaga family we visited the Teatro Scientifico Bibiena. We were intrigued because it was a “scientific’ theatre. It was built the 18th century to host scientific assemblies, but also open to plays and concerts. It is a petit bell-shaped concert hall. The extra is a ceiling view showing the bell shape. A month after it’s inauguration, in 1770, the 14 year-old Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart gave a memorable concert. This is our second ‘Mozart’ concert hall in Italy!
