Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

By Carol

2023 Tuesday — Bunting

The bunting we ordered arrived today and just for fun, I laid one piece on the bed then I asked Mr. Fun to come look.

I told him “that’s where the Patriots sleep.” He said, “No! That’s where the mermaid sleeps.”

Tomorrow all bunting pieces will be placed outside in preparation for the July 4th celebration. This little coastal town gets all dressed-up for America’s birthday. Many of the houses are decorated and the parade on Ocean Avenue is quite an event.

P.S. Mr. Fun’s prostate doctor phoned this morning (the telephone appointment was supposed to be tomorrow, but the doctor had time so he phoned today). He said Mr. Fun’s prostate cancer has not returned. We thank God for continuing to answer our prayers regarding that. We are still dealing with unpleasant side effects of the drugs he was given for approximately 18 months and the 28 radiation treatments. We appreciate doctors, but now more than ever we realize they are “practicing” medicine.

P.P.S. Today we drove the 16 or so miles into San Luis Obispo to get our pup, Mitzi’s, prescription at Costco. She has shrinking trachea and liver disease. We have no idea whether the medicines are helping her. I think she is now 14 1/2 years old and she’s doing pretty well. We’re thankful Chloe does not need medications. We also stopped at Trader Joe’s; I buy lasagna and French onion soup from their freezer section and numerous other products. Trader Joe’s has lots of good items. We also had lunch at the famous Madonna Inn; eating at the lunch counter is a favorite place when we get into the “big” city; actually anywhere in their dining room is lovely.

From California’s Central Coast,
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka
and Chloe & Mitzi too!
