First Flight AW169
I've just come back from two hours flying a real AW169 which makes a pleasant change from flying a black box!
We flew from Vergiate over to Lake Maggiore, with stunning views of the Italian and Swiss Alps. Sadly, we didn't get to nip over to the Matterhorn. Oh well, you can't have everything in life :-)
It was a good flight, and the scenery was fantastic, and I did really enjoy myself. However, I find myself somehow less than impressed at the cockpit displays of this aircraft. They're not a patch on the Helionix displays that are on the H145.
The 145 is clever - if you don't need to know about something because it's running ok, then the 145 doesn't show you. This thing shows you EVERYTHING and you have to work hard to figure out where on earth everything is and whether it is relevant to your particular phase of flight.
I guess it will take a while to adapt, but I do miss that 145!
Great flight though, and I am just being picky! For goodness sake, I just got to fly a 169 for two hours round some outstanding scenery - and I got paid to do it!
