Poorly Neil

On Sunday, Neil went for his usual bike ride, out to Avebury, but at some stage on the 20-mile ride home,  he must have fallen. He doesn't remember any of the journey home, just some fuzzy memories of the evening once home. We were in the garden when he got home and he was very confused, in a lot of pain and finding it hard to breath. A trip to A&E followed, with a CAT scan, x rays and blood tests which confirmed 7 broken ribs, a partial pneumothorax, concussion and a lots of nasty bruises and cuts.
After a stay in the Surgical Assessment Unit, Neil came home tonight and is recovering well. He still has pain, but it's improved a lot, however he still has absolutely no recollection of what led to his injuries.  Thankfully he wears a full head and face helmet (which now has a little dent where we presume he hit his head) and managed,  somehow, to get himself home. It could have been so much worse.
