Abutilon Beauty
Our Abutilon or Chinese Lantern, Flowering Maple and any number of other names it goes by, is blooming quite nicely, thank you. It's an interesting plant and a lovely little flower.
Okay, so I have to share something with you all. I was on the National Geographic site several years ago and then I got away from that site. They have since upgraded and made their site easier to navigate and I have been playing around with it for less than two weeks. Today I got a huge shock and a wonderful honor when one of my photos I'd uploaded (I had removed older ones, uploaded newer ones) was selected by one of their editors to be included in their Daily Dozen. During the week days only, 12 photos a day are chosen and then everyone can vote on them. At the end of the month, the photo with the most votes is then published in the National Geographic magazine. Well, I'm no dummy and I know THAT is not going to happen to my photo, but still...I am highly honored to have made it to one of the 12 for May 29th. You can go to the link below to see the 12 and this is by no means a ploy to get your vote. It may be for members only anyway. This is just purely for your entertainment and enjoyment. Also, since, most of you are far better photographers than me, then I urge you to take part in the new NG website as it's quite nice and you will have the opportunity to get YOUR wonderful photos in this magazine. It's a thought. If you'd rather skip the NG site, you can see the photo here, as I blipped it last October.
The Daily Dozen
Today I took care of some things that needed doing and also went to the dentist...got my teeth all spiffed up and I am very happy that I had no problems that needed attending to. There is a minor problem with the new digital x-ray device that they put in your mouth. The thing is huge and, believe it or not, I have a small mouth. That device barely fits in there. But, small price to pay I guess.
And that may be more information than you want to know about me! HA
Hope all is well, my friends. See ya
