What a Sight

Hubby was part of the color guard today for the commemoration of the Battle of Midway anniversary. The CO of the base invited the Knights to participate in this ceremony. I worked in the garden, pinching off the sucker growth in the leaf axils of my tomato plants. Doing this is supposed to result in better fruit production. I planted my third row of carrots as well. After cleaning the kitchen, it was time to pick up Brooklyn from school. She went with me for my asthma appointment. My doc says Singulair has newly discovered harmful side effects so that’s one less drug I’ll be taking. We’ll see if doing without it worsens my asthma and find a plan B. But he was pleased that my breathing test results had improved since last visit. Brooklyn and I shopped for food for Mackenzie who will take care of Millie for us. Then it was time for Brook’s dental appointment. She had zero cavities until the last six months. They are not sure what happened but she now has several. They filled three today. Our family has very soft teeth. Poor kid. She was unable to eat since her mouth was numb; the dentist suggested a milkshake so I got her one on the way home. These blooming cacti were along our route. I will put a close up of the flower in my extra. Hubby picked the full display for my main blip - too hard for me to choose. While we were out, hubby, my sister and our BIL took our mother to see the “Padre Pio” movie based on a cousin’s suggestion. Big mistake. It is rated R for nudity and offensive language. Yikes! We’d taken her to other movies about the lives of saints so who knew this would be any different. Lesson learned: get specific details before taking an elderly lady to the movies. Our cousin was just as clueless. My sister and BIL were kind enough to pick up and take Momma home so we can finish preparing for our trip. Hubby has gone to get new meds prescribed by my GP yesterday. So we both spent the day on the road. Hope your day was pleasant. Thanks for stopping by. Stay safe. “Nothing's all bad. There are very beautiful flowers in the desert amidst the spikes and thorns. Just don't let them take over. In the garden of love there is little room for prickly things.” ~ Kate McGaha
