The Roman Bridge

This is known as the Roman Bridge in Tavira. It isn't roman but the origins do date back to the 12th century.
Legend has it that the bridge was the meeting place for two lovers, the Muslim princess Sequa and the Christian knight Gilao. Their love was forbidden and when discovered they both threw themselves into the water below and drowned.
