Respect

I've been to The Lake District today to measure a lovely, challenging 10km road race.

It seemed appropriate that I was surrounded by beautiful hills on the 60th anniversary of Sir Edmund Hillary and Sherpa Tensing Norge reached the summit of Everest.

I cannot convey adequately the respect I have for the achievement. I just think about the clothing available then and wonder how it was possible.

Whilst measuring I came across a small copse of trees with this simple yet respectful commemorative stone to those laid to rest here.
