Dumfries House
Well think it's safe to say the next door neighbour's house is a little bit grander than ours.
This is Dumfries House, built between 1754 and 1759 for the 5th Earl of Dumfries. By the turn of the century the house was in danger of being sold and its contents, including a unique collection of Chippendale furniture, auctioned off to the highest bidder.
In 2007 Prince Charles led a consortium of charities and heritage bodies to purchase the house, its furniture and the surrounding estate.
You can find out more about the house and estate here.
Really liking the new 10-20mm lens, which allowed me to get the whole house in one shot. Looking forward to using it throughout the summer for some nice landscapes.
