Of a bygone era

A day exploring a little of the Sussex coast. Very impressed with the white cliffs and the Sussex Downs around Beachy Head and Birling Gap. I was also taken with the Pier at Eastbourne. A Victorian Pleasure Pier built in the 1870s, its rusty elegance is quite charming . . . in a strange sort of way.
