Roach pole

I've never quite understood the appeal of roach poles. This method was pioneered among match fishermen in the low countries where they would haul out fish after fish - there is no reel - to build up a winning bag. Not much hauling was going on here.

A dull dull day. Three more weeks and it will be the solstice, then we'll have turned the corner and the days will be getting shorter again. Oh yes, I'm a proper ray of sunshine today.
