Snap me Vitals....

Today's literary trail led to Inverary, birthplace of Neil Munro, who wrote the Para Handy stories.

The smaller of these boats is called The Vital Spark, and I assumed that it was the one which had been used in the 1960s tv series.

However, on talking to a garrulous, verbose, chatty local, I discovered that the 'original' lies sunk and unloved elsewhere, and this Vital Spark is an impostor!

(I also discovered that Neil Munro, was quite possibly a 'by-blow' (as my informant so delicately put it) of the Duke of Argyll himself.... but I won't write that bit down, in case somebody, somewhere, sues me for something....)
