Humble Jumble
A trip North West of Aberdeen to Oyne, near Insch about 25 miles from Aberdeen. We had a light lunch here, at Gadie's on the outskirts of the village. Well it was meant to be a light lunch, but I felt quite stuffed for a while after a burger and chips.
Next door to the restaurant there is a craft shop (Touched by Scotland), but humble does not describe it appropriately to judge by some of the prices. A step ladder my father would have thrown out about 50 years ago cost £160.
The difference between this one and that which belonged to my father? Well his may have had many paint splashes, instead the one on sale here had been repainted in one colour. The lesson is never throw anything away, keep it until it is worth more than it cost. Even an old Apple computer sells for a fortune now.
Not everything in the shop is so expensive, and there were some nice cards and other items on sale. This picture was taken in a corner of the shop where I was hiding out of sight in order to take the photograph. This area of the shop specialises in woollen merchandise. I expect everything here is for sale except the walls. Though even they may have a price.
At this point the battery in my camera gave up, as I did not have a spare that was the end of photography for the day.
