Beech Avenue
There must be hundreds of streets called Beech Avenue across Britain . This one at Pitfour is the real McCoy the magnificent mature trees are probably around 2 centuries old and lined one of the approaches to Putfour Estate.
Incidentally the expression ' real McCoy ' arose because the Canadian inventor of the ironing board and other items produced goods which were far superior to those made by his imitators. Purchasers would say that they wanted 'The real McCoy' not an inferior imitation.
