Depressing

Someone had the brilliant idea of covering the office windows with film. This is supposed to reduce glare and improve thermal efficiency.
It certainly reduces glare. The sky looked grey all day - even when we had a rare blue bit and some sunshine - and the office had an eerie moonlit quality about it. It was either too hot or too cold, and I had a headache all day.
I think we will all be suffering from SAD all year round for ever.

My mood wasn't lightened by what I saw at the pond later on. For a start, the light outside decided to match the light inside, and then it started to rain and the swans that a week ago were taking turns sitting on the nest were both aimlessly wandering about the edge of the pond, and the nest was nowhere to be seen. And there were no cygnets.
First time I've ever known that happen to that pair.

So, it looks like all hope of new life on the pond rests with this creature.
I think even the swans are rooting for her.
