Greater Broomrape - I think

This amazing parasitic plant is growing in the community garden in a pile of shredded twigs. It needs no chlorophyll - which produces the green colour of plants - or of leaves whpich are reduced to brown scales. It produces an amazing quantity of very small seeds for a parasite must disperse as widely as possible in order to find a vulnerable host plant.
