Day 13 Oviedo to Gijón 28 miles
We had a lovely evening wandering the streets of Oviedo, sampling the local Sidra - we are not cider drinkers but thought we would try the local stuff. It is still and poured from great height to aerate it. Our peaceful apartment was quite idyllic until a group of local youths spent all night in the square singing, and making a right old racket.
Anyway after breakfast we headed out to get lunch provisions and also wandered around the fantastic market. Then on our bikes for our last stage. It was short but quite lumpy, again I was pleased we had got my brakes fixed. A lovely ride over to the coast. Gijón is a seaside town so of course we dumped our bags and bikes and went for a quick dip in the sea. Fantastic
Pic is of us at the statue of Caesar Augustus signifying the end of the Ruta via de la Plata. Still got tomorrow’s ride to the aerport
