Chequered Skipper

I was out and about surveying for these rare butterflies today and yes we found them. This one is nice and fresh as it has just emerged

The chequered skippers are found in a very small geographical location in North Argyll and Lochaber only. It is not flying today as it was a little windy and not quite warm enough for it. All the better for taking a photograph of it
