Camino Ingles, Day 4: Meson do Vento to Sigueiro

We started early, picking up the Camino route through several small, picturesque villages, including the one where we had breakfast (Arua) and the one which had stocked its main square with a huge collection of local ‘relics’, including a massive plastic dinosaur and a vast rusty arch with a couple of old tractors bolted to it as well as the more usual crosses, troughs and effigies of saints (Cruz.) We passed the fine old church the Parroquia de San Pelayo de Buscas but didn’t stop to put a euro in the slot to have a look inside. Then we stopped for a drink at the café in Calle de Poulo and pushed on to Sigueiro through some very atmospheric – and presumably very old – ‘green lane’ recessed paths with high sides before a slightly more tiring final section in full sun close by the main road into town. At Sigueiro we stopped for Kas Limon in a shady park even though we were very near the end of the days walk and then found our hotel – not too hard to do as Sigueiro, whilst a slightly larger stopover town, didn’t really have a lot to see. Still, there was a decent restaurant just at the top of the street…
