...lived & worked in this house, apparently, if the lovely mosaic outside is anything to go by! so today i drove to castle douglas - it really was a bit of a culture shock after being in central london, followed by central manchester, then to a very rural place. it made osw look cutting edge! haha! it was completely tipping it down for the whole day but i was determined to go on my road trip and check out some of the recommendations given to me, including, kirkcudbright (which i loved with it's artiness, and colourfully painted houses) with a trip to the toll booth museum and broughton house (which i also loved, especially the studio and the garden was as lovely as described!), then off along the coast road to rockcliffe and sandyhills (which i loved!) followed by my last stop of dalbeattie (which didn't have a lot going on!). i was glad that the hotel was toasty warm when i returned totally windswept and soaked!
