Sewing machine troubles

I needed to use my sewing machine today and it is nowhere near the pleasure it used to be. I used to make many of my clothes and those of the children on a lovely Bernina. A beautifully made machine and I was very familiar with all the different possibilities . Sadly it gave up the ghost a few years ago and I bought a replacement. Not another Bernina, too expensive, but a well known make. However, have never enjoyed using it. Threading it is not logical and I have to look at the handbook every time! Sewing is not the pleasure it used to be. I finished my task eventually despite the struggle.
I would have been better to be outside in the sunshine, although there is a cold wind.
