Starflower

Scabiosa stellata... loads of them, looking so papery and delicate sprinkled along the gravel driveway, along with plenty of bird's nests (wild carrot flowers), and spiny starworts (in extra).  Thanks Miranda!

The wild plants and flowers really are prolific having been left to flourish all over the spring with an unusal amount of rain in Andalucia over April and May. So we do have quite a bit of strimming ahead just to avoid any fire risks when the really hot weather arrives.

It's been an unpacking day, essential shopping and greeting the neighbours. "Where have you been all this time?" I marvel too at the feral cats who instinctively seem to know we are back in the little cottage. They slink back just in sight of the patio, never too close, not saying anything, but clearly curious to see if I'll give them some food.  I always do of course. I am loving being back in the mountains.

Happy weekend everyone.
