Swan's Neck

This is a flower of Agave attenuata, which I photographed in our neighbourhood today. Individual flowers are small, around 20 mm across. The plant produces thousands of flowers, clustered on a long flowering spike. The spike on this plant was around 3 metres long, way above my head. Typically, the flower spike has a downward-curving tip - see my extra. Which leads to it being given common names of Foxtail Agave and, my preference, Swan's Neck Agave (Wikipedia). They originate in Mexico and like a warm climate.
