A fine vintage

Started work early this morning (before 9am!  Unheard of!), and had a busy day.  Then headed into London just before 5pm, to meet my friend Lizzie for dinner.  A train strike meant I had to walk to Lewisham, then get the DLR to Canary Wharf and the Jubilee Line to Waterloo.  Happily, I arrived at Canary Wharf just as Lizzie was leaving work (also at Canary Wharf), and we met outside the tube station.  Perfect timing - and lovely to get some bonus time with her on the way to Waterloo.  She had booked us a table at The Green Room, opposite the Royal Festival Hall; we had a lovely dinner and plenty of chat there, then had a walk along the South Bank together afterwards.  Spotted this marker that I'd never noticed before, marking the Queen's silver jubilee in 1977 (the year Lizzie and I were both born, coincidentally).

Caught the tube and DLR back after saying goodbye to Lizzie, and Tim came to collect me from Lewisham.  We dropped off a whole load of carrier bags for recycling at Tesco on the way.  And hit a massive pothole on the way home (with a massive CLUNK).  We were really worried it must have damaged the car, but thankfully it seems to be OK.
