Ancient Days

I read somewhere, or heard somewhere, that this used to be a hill fort of some kind, or had some kind of settlement on it; and that's why it's not been subsumed by farming activities. 
The A9 traffic zooms by on the right, drivers oblivious. 
And time moves on: tick, tock.
