DOWN THE HATCH

Today was the day when starling parents were teaching their offspring to forage, with regular top-ups as and when demanded. Looking at this one, the youngster's gape is enormous with its upper bill opened way up above its eye level.

It was another heavily overcast and very chilly day but we fitted in a visit to Mount Grace Priory, a chip-shop lunch, making some ginger biscuits and a load of laundry before D#2 headed south again. Missing her already.
