I took the train to Ilkley today and walked back home across the Moor doing a recce of the next D of E route. Miserable day but at least the rain held off until I opened our front door! En route across the moor I blipped snipe, plovers, grouse and the lapwings which dive bombed me! I guess I must have been too close to their nests. Not a great day for blipping and this one of a golden plover was taken at some distance. Nevertheless I think it shows how well camouflaged he is on the moor.

Not a bad day out for less than a fiver - train ticket + large bar of chocolate flapjack from Shipley Station.
