A tree within a tree

It felt sad to say goodbye to our pusscat family and Phoebe, their mum and dad arrived home from South Africa late morning looking tired. Following a lot of chat and some lunch we left them to return to normal and headed for Nantes. I had booked us into a hotel north of the city, beside a lake, the room was cool thank goodness, we felt exhausted and had an afternoon nap. All very pleasant and relaxing.

The receptionist booked us a table in a local restaurant for 8.00 allowing time for a short walk beforehand, a perfect evening stroll in the sunshine beside the lake. There are a several walks from the hotel, we came across a number of energetic youngsters running and met a group walking with those poles clicking away, very noisy, is it called Nordic walking? no smiles or greeting, posing came to mind, it made us smile. We carried on with the stroll.

The meal out was splendid, most people sat outside looking over the lake with a view of a chateau on the other side, the sun moving behind the building, a beautiful sunset. Rowing boats flowed up and down and a restaurant cruiser passed by, all gentle and quiet with a hum of voices around us.

The meal was made up of a number of small courses, we had wine to match each course, a special treat for the end of our holiday. Most enjoyable although not perfect, would have loved you to be there with us C and N.

Extras: I couldn’t leave without a few cat photos, the darling little black girl just wouldn’t fit into my suitcase, she is gorgeous and loves everyone. Izzy, previously seen cocooned in a blanket, found the dryer outside with bedding over the top. Some how she managed to leap onto the netting under the duvet cover.
