No mow May

It’s a jungle out there!  And the person coming to mow the grass isn’t coming until June 9 by which time.  But it’s lovely to see, mainly more grass if I’m honest but different flowers from last year.  In truth the first year we were here after many years of strict mowing there were more low growing flowers which suggested that low swards do have their own eco system if you don’t mow too low and regularly.

Anyway it was nice to work at home and dart out from time to time to sit in the sun or pull up a weed. The garden has been fairly well munched by the marauding deer (as @treshnish calls the more fearsome version in the Hebrides) and they seem to have bashed over a lot of foxgloves by presumably rubbing antlers on them as they do with trees.  There’s rabbits around too so my new relaxed attitude to the garden is going to be needed.
