Peahen

This peahen seems to wander around the village of Drymen without coming to harm. Here she has been pecking at my car, presumably to eat all the tiny bugs that were lodged there!

Ten minutes later she had crossed the busy road and was loitering with intent outside The Pottery. One day she'll come a cropper...

My knowledge of peafowl is certainly limited, but I've never seen one with this colouring. Wikipedia says that the female's plumage is generally a mixture of dull green, brown and grey.

If you look more closely you can see a hint of blue/green on her neck.
