Oak Apple Day.

Great Wishford continues to proclaim the right to collect firewood in the nearby Grovely woods. They have to hold a service in the cathedral in the morning of Oak Apple Day and then carry on with the banner around the village later in the day. I think this has been going on since about 1300. Fete on afterwards of course, all very traditional and pleasant. Village is in Wilts alongside the river Wylye.
