For this week only there is an 8th dwarf
and he is working at a makeshift desk in a bedroom in Darlington.
It would help if I was smaller. I wouldn't be hunched over with my knees up by my chin. I'm sure the picture doesn't show just how low my temporary desk is, so to help, I can tell you that if I stand up, it is about 2" above my knee cap, so pretty low.
Took a walk to town at lunchtime. Two reasons:
1 - to stretch my legs
2. to get a roast pork roll from Taylors
Taylors is a local butchers that does a roaring lunchtime trade in hot meat based edibles. The range is quite amazing as is the unhealthy nature of most of it and its popularity. I saw one lady order a hot pork pie (unheard of down south) smothered in mushy peas and gravy. This was served up in a styrafoam container. Presumably she will take that back to her desk and eat it whilst she works. I was feeling guilty about my pork roll, but it was health food compared to what others were ordering.
The difference in eating habits is quite noticeable between the north and south. I'm not making any judgement - its just different.
Greek salad for lunch tomorrow I think to redress the balance.
