Protecting the light

After I watered the garden this morning, I drove our neighbour down to catch the ferry. He begins his radiation treatments tomorrow. We'll pick him up on Friday when he returns home for the weekend.
I went to town to pick up a few things, not as busy as I expected. The wind is keeping it quite cool, but it's great to see the sun. Not sure why this guy was protecting the light. The wall was stuccoed last August and I thought it had been repainted, but maybe not. I'll see on Friday when I go back to town. Can you spot the tents of the tent caterpillars in the trees on either side of him?
