Outwards Bound

EDIT: Originally I posted pictures of the school's new trees, which was all very nice. But in the afternoon I went for a ride up in the Lammermuir foothills from Deuchrie to Halls, then down through Beil and Tynefield home. Which was much better than very nice, it was blimmin brilliant. Off work for 3 days and I'm in such a better place. Out every day on the sea or the bike and I'm breathing more deeply and really relaxing.

This is the back road from Stenton to Deuchrie, one of my favourites. The hills in the distance are where I went next.

Big Breaths.

Original post: I was at the school this morning to take pictures of the Primary 7 class before they graduate to the Grammar school, to be used for some memory books. There's only 7 of them, 3 girls and 4 boys (including my son Malcolm), and they're a lovely bunch. They are off to a big sports competition in Edinburgh this afternoon so they were in casual clothes and very relaxed and smiley. That was a great start to the day. As I was finishing up, the Nursery teacher asked me to take some photos of the new trees she had planted with a grant so that she could send the pictures to the funding body. I wandered about a bit and ended up in the Willow Dome, looking out to the new trees.

I could get all whimsical and draw parallels between the developing children and the growing saplings. But I won't ;)

The new Laura Marling album arrived in the post and it's fantastic. She's only 23, on her 4th album, and the sound is crisp acoustic fury. Sit back and marvel.
