Adders and Chasers

We didn't see any adders at Barkbooth Lot CWT reserve in the Winster valley, but we did find Adder's-tongue, an uncommon and unusual fern, so named because the tall stalk that bears its spores is thought to resemble a snake's tongue.  The highlight of the visit though was the number of Four-spotted Chaser dragonflies, dozens of them flying excitedly over the pond ridiculously fast - hence no photos.
