Every Colour
I was rushing back from Leeds in order to have a full day at Ben Rhydding for a home cricket match. I've barely been able to see any so far. On the way to the station I spotted (not difficult!) this group of young mothers. They were spectacularly beautifully dressed, as were their children. It was hard to take my eyes off them.
It was an almost perfect day to watch cricket. Unbroken sunshine with very little wind and never too hot - for spectating, at least. Not the best of days for the team as a whole but Forrest scored an elegant 57 to at least give us something to defend. Unfortunately, we couldn't get the early breakthrough we needed. As they have for much of the season so far, Roam and Forrest led the bowling attack, without much luck. Roam held it together and eventually picked up three wickets (two cleaned up) with Forrest picking up the only other. Six games in, we've won two, lost three now, with one much abandoned. A league higher, it's a lot more competitive - which is no bad thing.
