Sunburst
Forget the birds - today was all about the hiking and the flowers and the kangaroos. (Until we came back to our cabin, and then it was all about the birds again).
First thing we went on a shortish, but very stiff, hike through an area called the Grand Canyon. And I am so pleased I managed it. My knees are dodgy at the best of times, but I did this hike, up steep rocks and steps, and didn't miss a beat. It was fantastic.
Immediately after that we did another longer hike up to Turret Falls - well, water dribble is a bit more like it, there hasn't been much rain in these parts yet this winter.
But half way up the track the sun came through and shone on this little clump of sundews. They looked like rubies - so beautiful. But, quelle horreur, I didn't have my favourite 100 mm lens, (or my big camera) so this was taken with the Rowers 24-105 mm lens and camera which didn't give it the sort of look I really wanted, but I think you can get how gorgeous it is.
Blood red
We really are blown away by our experience in the Grampians so far. Outstanding.
