Don’t Fence Me In

A lovely walk on campus this morning. The glowing wheat colored fields against the dark purple sky made me want to find my pastels and start blending. Neither the phone nor the camera managed to catch that breathtaking combination of colors. We saw deer and ground squirrels, hummingbirds, rabbits, and wild turkeys. Lupine and vetch and poppies too cold to raise their golden heads. Look at this, and look at that, and isn’t it wonderful to have all this just a few minutes from home.
