We were both feeling a little weary this morning - I’m not used to physical exertions at the allotment and dog walking for so many days in a row but it’s been a joy. So Merlin had his morning walk in the meadow and we relaxed at home afterwards. In the garden I potted out tumbling tomatoes into two old hanging baskets and other tomatoes into the raised beds.
After lunch Andy strimmed the grass at the allotment and I planted out French beans and tomatoes, then made a start at weeding the asparagus bed in the new plot - the buttercups and grass were easy to remove but the bindweed will take much longer to suppress. These tasks completed we returned home to rest, have a cool drink and some tea loaf before the afternoon dog walk.
These pink flowers are on the new allotment plot. I plan to leave them and create a wild flower swathe. I initially thought they are red campion but now I am unsure.
