Tissington Hall
It’s close to my family home but today was my first time inside.
It’s a true family home and the current Baronet popped in when the group I was with were in the dining room. He asked a little girl if she rode and when she said yes, he asked her the name of her pony. She was a bit puzzled but told him it was one at the stables. Well, he’s from a different world, and was very friendly.
I know Tissington quite well from visiting the well dressing, around the time of Ascension Day. Sadly, they’d already removed all this year’s flowers.
I’d gone today because the garden was a part of the National Garden Scheme. Touring the house was a lovely surprise.
Well worth battling the Bank Holiday traffic.
