Multnomah Channel
Our outing for the holiday was a picnic lunch on Sauvie Island, at the Bybee-Howell Heritage House. Same spot I picnicked on Wednesday with Barb and Di. Same table, same view of the hills to the south, no starlings, but more people. After eating, we checked out the old house and orchard, then walked across the pretty busy road and laid on the embankment to gaze at the channel, with cars zipping along behind us. The blackberries weren’t a problem. Nothing was.
