Bike Route

I pass this (now) decorative windmill daily while riding my bicycle. It is pretty interesting!

Today is a Federal holiday here in the U.S. as we honor those who have died in the service of our country. It is also 'Put A Pillow On Your Refrigerator Day'!
This is a random day, and it spans back to the early 1900s. It is when families would place a piece of linen or cloth within their larders. The piece of cloth would usually have been torn from something they had in their bedroom, be it a nightgown or a blanket, and then it would be placed in the larder. They did this because they believed it would bring them prosperity and good fortune. People believed that if they were to put a piece of cloth from their bedroom in the place where they stored their food, it would bring rich fertility and the possibility of plentiful food to their household.

A larder is a place (room etc.) where you store your lard and bacon. I keep mine in the refrigerator.
