Double feature at the Cameo!

After work today we went to the Cameo cinema at Tollcross for a Studio Ghibli double feature. The Cameo is one of oldest active cinemas in Scotland and it is now 25 years since these films were released in Japan.

When they were released "Grave of the Fireflies" was deemed so depressing that viewers were shown "My Neighbour Totoro" immediately after to lift their spirits before going home. For the anniversary they emulated this. I can see why Totoro was needed, I had never seen "Grave of the Fireflies" before and I have never found myself in such a state at the pictures. I have always lived Totoro however and it soon cheered me up!
