A Day In The Life

Bee-Gone!

Despite near 90F temps, MrsP and I planted broccoli, tomato and sweet pepper seedlings. Not all at once, but with several breaks in between to hydrate and get out of the sun. We also watered new transplants and plants a couple of times to help everyone survive the unusual May heat • Over the past few days I’ve noticed a few bees hanging around the phlox bed, which is concerning because it’s near the front door and was the site of numerous bees coming and going from an underground nest last summer. Last Fall skunks found it and removed it for us over two nights, which we were grateful for. Unfortunately they also dug up a quarter of our established creeping phlox. Today I buried a rock, and placed this ornamental frog on the area of the old nest. I read if you change the environment the bees will go elsewhere • Let’s hope so! • Hope you’re enjoying your Sunday!
