Heptonstall

Heptonstall is much in the news at the moment.  This weekend the Heptonstall Museum re-opened as a 'community asset' after being closed for around 4 years.
The opening exhibition explores the lives of the Cragg Vale Coiners , the notorious band of local counterfeiters led by 'King" David Hartley who produced fake gold coins in the late 18th century'
Watch 'The Gallows Pole' on BBC 2 - Wednesday at 9pm much of which was filmed in Heptonstall.
The book was very good - let's hope the dramatisation is as good.
