Konik ponies

This morning we cycled from Cambridge to Ely, about 25 miles through the (very flat) fens. Along the way, just south of Wicken, we spotted a herd of wild Konik Ponies, originally from eastern Europe and introduced to the Fens to help manage the landscape. They were recently featured in the last David Attenborough TV series. We arrived at Ely train station safely if a little sore, and 14 minutes later we were back in Cambridge. And now rest awhile, as our friends Lynn and Gary are coming to dinner :)
