Morning paddle

I was up very early and drove to Lacamas Lake to meet my niece for a paddle.  There were pretty dark skies with a 30% chance of thundershowers (a low percentage)... so we went ahead.  It was a great paddle and no thundershowers happened.  Lots of bald eagles, heron, egret, fish spanning,  at one corner we startled an owl and it flew across in front of us.  I was wondering why it was sitting so low and near the water when a duck and little 4 or 5 little ducklings came out of the grasses, so we were guessing the owl was after the little ones.  An early post for me, my parents are coming over for a BBQ.
