Glad(ioli) all over
Craving forgiveness for another contrived 60s music reference, I thought the gladioli foregrounded the bug hotel nicely. The bug hotel is what one might describe as a sporadic project but the aim is to finish it this long weekend. We're in Brighton tomorrow to mark my wife's birthday (she doesn't consider it a cause for celebration) with two of our daughters. The youngest is in Italy for a friend's wedding. So, the rest of the construction work will be a Bank Holiday Monday job. The 60s reference is to Glad All Over by the Dave Clark Five. They were Tottenham's answer to The Beatles but nowhere near in the same league. Dave Clark was the drummer and had what one might call an uncomplicated style, characterised by a rictus grin.
