Travelling around London

The Oyster card, according to Wikipedia, was first issued 2003 and by 2012, over 43 million cards had been issued.

It is a credit card sized smart card that can be used by touching an electronic reader - a large yellow button - when entering and leaving a station or boarding a bus. Adding credit to the card was easy; when entering the railway station look for a vending type machine and by following the instructions check the credit on the card or top up by using a credit card.

Using the underground is easy. I can remember in our youth trying to work out what ticket to buy, trying to find the right line and getting it wrong, it's was an acceptable fact we would 'Get it wrong'. Now we feel grown up and haven't made a mistake in all the ducking and diving of recent days.

Blippers who use this system will not realise how out of touch we can feel and what a pleasure it is to arrive from the sticks, into a city, and enjoy it. A week ago I didn't know any of the above.
