the hump
Though crudely disguised it's still fairly clear that the entity on the cycle path is a woman, not a bicycle. She walked right over the sign, too. Even though it was raining very slightly there's still little excuse for not staying on the footpath side of the pavement for an extra twenty metres then crossing to the other side for the last wee bit up to the crossing. Of course, it would be easier if there was a footpath all the way up to the big bit of pavement on the corner but it would probably not go down too well with anyone attempting to turn into the road driving anything larger than a medium-sized van as most people fail to slow down sufficiently. Also, people walking on the cycle path might well be the factor which causes many cyclists to cycle retaliatively across the pedestrian crossing though it's probably just laziness.
I caught someone deliberately trying not to understand something today. They were quite clearly hearing the sounds I was making in response to their question but then blatantly made up some nonsense in response just to get out of having to admit that the matter was resolved. There are so few options remaining for dealing with them that I'm going to have to try very hard to not resort to visibly condescending sarcasm.
